Dear ThermalBinding.us,
I've been using your product for years to create brochures for my clients (I'm a freelance marketing consultant by night, contractor by day). I had never really used Unibind for anything other than brochures... and had only ordered the covers specified by my clients. Although, when I first bought my Unibind Machine, I had purchased one of your sample kits, just so I would have a few odd covers to play with should I need them.
Several months ago, I saw a want ad for a marketing specialist. Without much hope, I had sent my resume to the company. My thoughts were, "Why not?"
I was surprised a week later when they called and wanted to set up an interview within the next three days. I was happy, but that meant I had to put together a portfolio within a very short time. Yes, I should have already had one, but I've been known to procrastinate on such things.
Instead of using a traditional photo-album, and trying to stuff in a whole lot of papers, I created one using Microsoft Word. I separated each section with whatever headings were appropriate, and printed the whole thing out on some glossy paper.
What did I use to bind it all? You guessed it-I dug into that stack of covers I had ordered from the Unibind sample kit. As a matter of fact, I printed out two of them. One for me to have, and one for me to leave with the potential employer.
A week later, after the boss man had paged through my portfolio more carefully, I was called back again with a solid job offer.
Thanks for the service, thanks for the product, and thanks for the job.
